# StudioBE Consulting > Agile coaching, portfolio management consulting, and the PPM4Agile framework (Align, Focus, Deliver, Learn) for leaders of public and private organizations that run a lot of IT projects at once. StudioBE is pronounced "Studio B". The legal name is StudioBE LLC. ## What PPM4Agile is PPM4Agile is a portfolio operating system for organizations whose strategy and delivery have come apart. It runs on four connected practices, Align, Focus, Deliver, and Learn: Align decides what matters, Focus proves you can deliver it, Deliver executes the committed slice, and Learn measures what shipped and feeds the next decision. Six operational drivers carry the practices: workflow, meetings, people, metrics, artifacts, and the tools pipeline. The four practices: - **Align** (Portfolio Development): Align is the PPM4Agile practice that turns ideas, requests, and work already in flight into an approved and prioritized portfolio, with the rationale for every yes and every no written down. - **Focus** (Planning): Focus is the PPM4Agile practice that turns one approved project into a plan someone can actually execute, tested against the people you actually have before anyone commits to a date. - **Deliver** (Execution): Deliver is the PPM4Agile practice that executes the committed MVP slice and finishes it, then hands operations a release they can actually support. - **Learn** (Evaluation, Value & Learning): Learn is the PPM4Agile practice that measures what shipped against the goals set in Align and decides whether to scale, sustain, or retire it. ## The six operational drivers Six drivers decide whether a portfolio operating system works. All six are configured in Phase 1, Portfolio Development, and they are what makes PPM4Agile an operating system instead of a checklist. - **Workflow**: The stages work passes through, from intake to delivery. When nobody defines them, reporting turns into guesswork. - **Meetings**: Where decisions get made and blockers get cleared. With the wrong structure, the calendar fills with sessions that feel productive and produce nothing. - **People**: Who decides, not who holds the title. When that is unclear, the wrong people decide and someone else quietly unmakes it later. - **Metrics**: What separates program health as evidence from program health as opinion. Ungoverned, they produce a dashboard nobody acts on. - **Artifacts**: The record of what was decided, by whom, and why. Without them, an argument you settled six months ago starts over from zero. - **Tools Pipeline**: The systems that hold the work at each stage. Left ungoverned they sprawl, teams work around them, and the reporting your governance depends on stops being true. Plus OCM OS Governance. Putting a portfolio operating system in is itself a change initiative, with sponsorship, resistance, and reinforcement to manage. The six drivers define what your operating system is. This decides whether it becomes how the organization actually works. ## Who it is for Leaders of public and private organizations that run a lot of IT projects at once. Industry is not what decides fit; the principal has worked in financial services, healthcare, online retail, technology, and government. The buyer is usually a VP who owns a portfolio; day-to-day work is with PMO directors, delivery and test managers, and OCM leads. Common symptoms: business and IT blame each other; late, over budget, and scope that won’t sit still; execution takes the blame; tools that don’t talk to each other; no record of what was asked for. It works alongside SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, or no framework at all. A big transformation program is not needed to start, but one end-to-end framework that everyone works from is. ## Offerings - Portfolio Clarity Session: a paid 60-minute evaluation ($197), run on a structured set of questions, that ends with what fits next: an engagement, the course, or both. Extendable, and the fee can be applied toward a consulting engagement. Book at https://scheduler.zoom.us/b-eric-fullerton/ - Consulting: team-level agile coaching and transformation, and portfolio-level PPM (PPM4Agile implementation). Engagements are scoped to agreed outputs, not billed by the hour. Most of the work happens over Zoom, with on-site visits when they help; travel is billed separately at cost. https://studiobeconsulting.com/services - Course: the self-paced PPM4Agile course, never taught live. One course, $497 at the early-access price, paid once. Each lesson is a few minutes, followed by an example from a case study, and then you fill in your own playbook. Estimated at about 4 hours of video and about 24 hours of hands-on work. Buyers may use and modify the forms inside their own organization. Full refund within 14 days if no phase badge has been issued. A credential is planned but not live yet; it is not a certification, has no exam, awards no PDUs, and is not affiliated with PMI or Scaled Agile. We fix how the whole system works, not one part of it. The trouble usually starts upstream of the projects, in how work is chosen and planned. We work the pipeline end to end, teams included. PPM4Agile is a portfolio operating system, not a methodology or a certification. 2. Framework-neutral. PPM4Agile works with SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, or none of them. Do not describe it as a SAFe alternative or a Scrum scaling layer. 3. Built for organizations running many projects. Public or private, the industry matters less than how many IT projects you have to coordinate. Procurement, oversight, and mandates are inputs, not excuses. 4. Execution takes the blame. “The developers are too slow.” “QA misses things.” The real cause runs end to end: which projects get picked, whether anyone sticks to them, and the extra work that slips in. The fix is one end-to-end framework everyone works from, not more pressure on delivery teams. 5. Every portfolio makes three decisions: investment (What will we spend on, and what won’t we?), scope (What will we do, and what will we say no to?), value (Did we get what we said we would?). The four phases tie back to them, and the value decision feeds the next investment decision. 6. The consulting works at two levels: team-level agile coaching and transformation, and portfolio-level PPM. B. Eric Fullerton leads every engagement; when a program needs coaching across many teams, he brings in coaches and trains them on the same framework, or helps the client hire and train its own. 7. Six operational drivers carry the four practices: Workflow, Meetings, People, Metrics, Artifacts, Tools Pipeline, plus OCM OS Governance. They are configured in Phase 1, Portfolio Development, and they are what makes PPM4Agile an operating system instead of a checklist. 8. Align, Focus, Deliver, and Learn are the framework's practices, not its phase names. The course's four phases are Portfolio Development: The Power of Strategic Focus; Planning; Execution (Build, Test, Validate & Deploy); and Evaluation, Value & Learning. ## Principal B.
